Chalcea Malec

Chalcea

Chalcea began ministering to children at the age of thirteen when she taught her first Sunday school class.  She studied developmental psychology and sociology at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and is currently both licensed as an Early Childhood Educator with the province of BC and credentialed with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

Chalcea has been actively involved in children’s ministries at North Douglas Church since becoming a member 17 years ago and has also worked as a program director at Hope Bay Bible Camp on Pender Island and with Extreme Outreach SuperKids program.

In addition to children’s ministries Chalcea is mission-minded and has been a member of ministry groups to the Philippines and Mexico as well as to many more local destinations; she created a successful ‘free-store’ ministry called ‘The Sharing Room’ which ran for over 14 years.

Chalcea is responsible for administrating and teaching in North Douglas’s thriving preschool, and for developing and overseeing all Sunday and mid-week programs and special events for children.  The goal of all of her work with children is simply to see them introduced to and grow into maturity in all aspects of the Christian faith.  Her greatest personal joy has been to see her three children, sons aged 23 and 21, as well as a 16 year old daughter grow in the Lord and to have had opportunities to minister alongside them.
