Looking To The New Year
As we slide into the New Year most people are pondering what the coming year will hold for them. There is undoubtedly a lot of concern and scepticism about the economic future of the world. Some economists are saying we are in a recession while others argue that we are already in a state of economic depression.
With such a gloomy outlook how do we as believers face the future? Well the first thing we have to remind ourselves is the fact that God is in control. The book of Revelation constantly reminds its readers that God is in control and that His purposes will be fulfilled on earth.
Anne Rice's Interview
It was a thrill to hear author Anne Rice being interviewed on the Tavis Smiley Show (PBS - April 7th, 2008). The author has sold more than 100 million copies of her books worldwide and has greatly influenced the Goth youth subculture. Rice was famous for her books on Vampires but her life was changed during the writing of Interview with the Vampire.
Why Is Jesus The only Target?
In the March 19th, 2008 issue of the McLean ’s magazine columnist Brian Bethune writes an article called the Jesus Problem. Bethune suggests that “the newest view of Christ-activist, politician, not very Christian is hard to square with the Bible’s.” He goes on to state that “some believers even say the faith might be better off without him.”
